Keyboard shortcuts
Move through an incident without reaching for the mouse. Here is every console and docs shortcut, where each one works, and how wheel zoom behaves on the timeline and the map.

The console's shortcut list#
Press ? anywhere in the console, outside a text field, to open Keyboard shortcuts. The keyboard button in the top bar and Keyboard shortcuts in the account menu open the same list. It shows these rows:

On Windows and Linux, press Ctrl K for search. The list shows only the ⌘ form, and both work everywhere.
Where each key works#

| ⌘ K or Ctrl K | Any screen with the top bar | Focuses the search field and selects its text. |
| ? | Any screen, when you are not typing and no dialog is open | Opens Keyboard shortcuts. |
| ← → | Incident, Reconstruction tab | Selects the previous or next event on the same clock, in time order, and scrolls its row in Events in view into view. With nothing selected, either key selects the first aligned event. |
| ← → | Event page | Opens the previous or next event of the incident. |
| [ | Reconstruction tab | Zooms the timeline out: the window doubles. |
| ] | Reconstruction tab | Zooms the timeline in: the window halves, down to 40 ms. |
| F | Reconstruction tab | Fits the incident window and resets the companion clock's own axis. |
| Esc | Reconstruction tab | Closes the evidence inspector and clears the selection. |

The Reconstruction tab ignores its keys while you type in a field or while a dialog is open. [ and ] zoom around the selected event when it is in view, and around the middle of the window otherwise. The timeline toolbar's tooltips carry the same keys: Zoom out [, Zoom in ] and Fit the incident window F.
When the companion clock is not aligned, ← and → step through the companion's own events separately from the aligned ones. The zoom and fit keys act on the timeline; the map's highlighted track segment follows the timeline window.
Search results#
| Keys | What it does |

| ↓ ↑ | Moves the highlight through the results. It wraps from the last result to the first. |
| Enter | Opens the highlighted result, or the first result when none is highlighted. |
| Esc | Clears the field and closes the results. |
Search starts at 2 characters. It groups results under Incidents, Runs, Evidence and Vehicles.
Wheel and pointer#

| Timeline | Hold Ctrl, ⌘ or Alt and scroll | Zooms around the pointer: scrolling up zooms in, scrolling down zooms out. |
| Whole-run strip | Drag a window edge | Resizes the window, down to 50 ms. |
| Whole-run strip | Drag inside the window | Pans the window along the run. |
| Whole-run strip | Press outside the window | Centers the window there, then pans as you drag. |
| Map | Hold Ctrl, ⌘ or Alt and scroll | Zooms around the pointer. A plain wheel scrolls the page. |

The timeline legend reads Hold ⌘ or Alt and scroll to zoom. Ctrl works as well.
